Path – 道 combines green jade with dark agarwood beads — two registers, one quiet. Jade carries the Chinese cultural register of steadiness and longevity; agarwood is the slow, resinous, earth-grounded counterweight. A contemporary handmade piece — a small daily object that holds two materials, two traditions, in conversation.

Design Concept

Path – 道 began as a small study of alternation — the bracelet that asks the wrist to count. Cylindrical agarwood beads alternating with round nephrite jade beads, broken at intervals by a small Tibetan-inspired gold-tone charm bead with cloisonné inlay. The kanji 道 carries the meaning of path or way — not a destination, the long, simple act of returning.

道。

Material & Craft

Handmade as a stretch bracelet alternating cylindrical aromatic agarwood beads (dark brown, smooth, ~10 mm) with round green nephrite jade beads (light celadon, ~7–8 mm). At three intervals, small Tibetan-inspired gold-tone charm beads with cloisonné enamel inlay (turquoise / coral / ivory tones). Strung on a soft elastic stretch cord. Each piece is hand-strung; bead grain, jade color depth, and the orientation of the cloisonné carry small natural variation between bracelets.

Energy & Intention

Jade and agarwood are both long-associated, in Tibetan and broader East Asian traditions, with quiet practice — stones and woods kept close on the body for meditation and calm focus. Paired with the small Tibetan-inspired charm, the piece is designed as a soft daily companion through ritual: morning practice, journaling, the long walk between two parts of a day.

Who It's For

For the meditator, the gentle ritual-keeper, the writer who likes a steady weight on the wrist. The piece sits as well with linen and warm neutrals as with darker fall and winter layers.

Gift Idea

A considered gift for a partner who keeps a daily practice, a friend after a long passage, or a self-gift to mark a season of slower focus. Thoughtfully wrapped in KAGAKI gift-ready packaging.

Care Note

Real natural stone, aromatic wood, and gold-tone metal are sensitive to water, perfume, lotions, and prolonged sunlight. Remove before bathing, swimming, or sleeping. Stretch the bracelet gently when putting it on; do not over-stretch. Store flat away from light to keep the wood's natural scent and the cloisonné's color. See KAGAKI jewelry care for full guidance.

Who it is for

A piece for the wearer who likes two quiet materials working together — and who wants a daily object that is grounded rather than weightless.

As a gift

Particularly thoughtful as a gift for someone who appreciates fine materials, slow ritual, or the meditative register that wood and stone produce when worn together.

A few questions

What is agarwood and why pair it with jade?

Agarwood is a fragrant heartwood traditionally associated with quiet attention and meditation across several Asian cultures. Paired with green jade — historically read as a stone of calm and protection — the two materials carry a shared register: slow, grounded, quietly present.

What is the meaning of green jade in this piece?

Green jade is interpretively associated with balance, steadiness, and a small daily return to the body. KAGAKI’s use is contemporary handmade; it does not claim sacred or healing authority.

Is Path suitable for daily wear during meditation or travel?

Yes — the cord-and-bead construction is light, the agarwood scent settles into the wood with time, and the piece is designed to sit quietly under a sleeve during long sits or long days of travel.
