Jewelry Care

JEWELRY CARE_

Caring for your KAGAKI piece

A handmade KAGAKI piece will soften and develop with wear. Care for it gently, and it will hold its quiet character for a long time.

Daily care

Cotton cord and natural fibers prefer dry hands. Apply lotions, perfumes and sunscreens before slipping the bracelet on. Take it off before swimming, showering, or any extended water contact — water dulls dyes over time and shortens the life of a knot.

Crystal stones

Rose quartz and the other natural stones we use carry small inclusions, surface lines, and faint clouding. These are the language of the stone, not flaws. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners and ultrasonic devices — they're built for sterile uniformity, which isn't what these stones are.

Storage

When you're not wearing it, rest your bracelet in the small KAGAKI pouch or any breathable cloth bag, away from direct sunlight. A drawer is fine. A jewelry box with a soft liner is lovelier still.

If a knot loosens

Hand-braided cord settles with wear. A loose knot usually retightens with a gentle pull on the long ends. If a piece feels worn through after long use, write to us — repair stories are some of our favorites.

The honest part

A handmade bracelet is not a sealed factory object. Cord softens. Color quietly mellows. Stones carry their natural signatures. We see this aging as the life of the piece, not as failure of care. Read more in our Craft Philosophy.
