Design Concept

Vein – 脈 began with the observation that the things that keep a body alive are mostly hidden. The veins under the skin, the breath in the chest, the small steady current of attention through a day — none of these are visible from outside, but life depends on them moving. Vein translates that fact into the simplest possible wearable form: two cord colors woven into a single line, carried along the inside of the wrist where a vein would actually run. The piece is a small visible mark of an otherwise invisible flow.

The two cord colors meet but never blur — Steady Courage woven from red and dark blue, Gentle Path from green and white. A fine metallic gold thread runs along the closure where the hand most often returns, the smallest possible bright signal that something is moving even when the surface looks still. The kanji 脈 means vein, pulse, current — the unbroken line that carries something through. The braided structure makes the metaphor literal: small repeated handwork building, over hours, a single steady channel.

Material & Craft

Handmade with hand-braided natural fiber cord, two cord colors interwoven down the length of the piece, finished with a sliding adjustable closure that suits most adult wrists. A fine gold thread detail runs along the closure — a quiet visual punctuation woven through the braid rather than a separate decorative weight. Each bracelet is finished by hand; the interweaving of the two cords, the placement of the gold thread, and the way the cord softens with wear all carry small natural variation between pieces.
