Design Concept

Pearl Moth – 珠の羽 is built around a deliberately irregular baroque pearl — kept in its natural lopsided form rather than polished into roundness, set close to the lobe with a fine zircon-accented wing detail beside it. The pearl is the heavier visual element; the wing is the quieter one. The piece reads as still rather than in motion — a moth at rest beside a small natural pearl, not a butterfly in flight. The kanji 珠の羽 names the wing of a pearl-like thing, a small visual phrase that takes pearl as the subject and wing as the attribute.

Energy & Intention

A baroque pearl is the kind of pearl that grew in a specific way — outside the regularity that pearl-grading prefers, into a shape no other pearl in the world quite matches. Pearl Moth keeps that irregularity at the center of the piece rather than apologizing for it. The wing beside the pearl is at rest, not in flight, because the entire piece is built around stillness: a small natural object kept close to the body, in the form it grew in, paired with a small quiet attendant.
