Design Concept

Paw – 爪 began with the kind of quiet piece a wearer returns to without thinking. A pink jade cat paw — 1.1 inches of carved mischief, toe beans and all — hanging from a sage-green kumihimo cord. The paw hangs toes-down, the way a real cat would dangle it. The piece is designed to sit close to the body — light enough to forget, present enough to be found by the hand during the day. The kanji 爪 means paw, claw — a small visual anchor for what the necklace is about.

Material & Craft

Hand-carved pink jade paw (1.1in, rounded pads with carved toe beans, soft polish, blush-pink semi-translucent), no metal bail — the cord ties directly above the paw with a wrapped knot, then one orange-red agate bead and one tiny gold bead. Sage-green eight-strand braided cord, adjustable. Each piece is finished by hand in small batches. Small variation in stone tone or knot position is part of the made-by-hand register, not a defect.
