Pause – 間 | Tibetan Meditation Cord Bracelet

A Tibetan-style cord meditation bead bracelet, named for the small daily pause it is designed to mark. The bead count is restrained, the cord soft enough to disappear under a sleeve during long sits.
Design Concept
Pause – 間 is the studio's most specific piece — built around a choice. Two versions, the same cord: one with a small hand-tied knot at the center of the wrist, one without. The kanji 間 names the interval, the small breath inside a longer line. The piece asks the wearer to decide whether they want a marked place to return to (Knot Pause) or a single uninterrupted line they can let the day move through (Open Pause). Both are real ways of being. The bracelet refuses to choose for the wearer.
言葉と言葉のあいだに、ひと呼吸。
Material & Craft
Handmade with hand-braided natural fiber cord, finished with a sliding adjustable closure that suits most adult wrists. The Knot Pause carries a small hand-tied center knot that sits naturally at the top of the wrist when worn — a quiet point of focus to return to during the day. The Open Pause carries no central knot, allowing the cord to read as a single uninterrupted line. Each bracelet is finished by hand; the spacing of the braid, the tension of the closure knot, and the way the cord softens with wear all carry small natural variation between pieces.
Energy & Intention
The center knot, in many cultures, is a small physical reminder — a touchpoint to come back to when attention has wandered. The open version is the same form held differently — the cord as a continuous line, no marked place to return to, only the steady presence of the cord itself. KAGAKI offers both because both are real ways of being. Some wearers want a place to come back to; some want a single quiet line. Either reads, on the wrist, as a small daily pause.
Who It's For
For the wearer who is past beginning meditation and has found their own particular relationship to it — the one who knows whether they want an object to come back to (Knot) or an object to let the practice move through (Open). The Knot version is for the wearer who likes a tactile cue; the Open version is for the wearer who finds tactile cues themselves a small distraction.
Gift Idea
A gift between practitioners — the long meditator giving to a new one, or the gentle gift to a partner who has started sitting. Knot for the one who needs anchoring; Open for the one who needs to learn that they don't always need an anchor. Carefully packed, kept simple.
Care Note
Real natural fiber cord is sensitive to water, perfume, lotions, and prolonged sunlight. Remove before bathing, swimming, or sleeping. Adjust the slide gently. Store flat away from light to keep the cord's color and tension. See KAGAKI jewelry care for full guidance.
