Design Concept
Halo – 環 carries a brighter register than its kanji-sibling Garland – 環. Where Garland holds the closed-circle meditative mandala, Halo holds the open-circle auspicious one — a vivid rainbow knot at the center of a warm red braided cord, designed to read as bright movement rather than quiet rest. The cord is wrapped by hand, the knot crossings are deliberate, and the rainbow palette is kept saturated rather than pastel — the difference between a small flag of celebration and a quiet reminder. The kanji 環 names the ring that returns to itself; in this piece, the ring is the kind that keeps moving forward as it returns.
光の環。やさしい守り。
Material & Craft
- Hand-braided cotton and natural-fiber cord with rainbow central knot
- Warm red base cord
- Adjustable sliding-knot closure
- Designed for daily wear and slow softening over time
Each bracelet is handwoven; the rainbow saturation and knot tension vary slightly between pieces.
Energy & Intention
Red string has, in many East Asian and Tibetan-inspired traditions, carried the meaning of an unseen connection — a small visual reminder that something is kept close. Halo adds to that the auspicious register of the rainbow knot at center: not stillness, but movement; not closure, but forward unfolding. The piece is designed for the wearer who is moving into something new and wants the wrist to carry a small reminder that the moving itself is the practice. KAGAKI uses the form here in conversation with the long tradition rather than reproduction of it; the bracelet is contemporary, handmade, and offered without spiritual claim.
Who It's For
For the wearer at a forward-moving point — a new chapter, a recovery that's gaining momentum, a year of saying yes to things again — who wants the wrist to carry a small bright object rather than a quiet dark one. Where Garland – 環 sits with the meditator and the ritualist, Halo sits with the wearer ready to walk outside.
Gift Idea
A gift for someone at a season of forward motion — a graduation, a return after a long stretch of withdrawal, a literal new home, a vocation begun. The bright rainbow knot is meant to read as a small visual signal to the wearer (and to others) that this is a moving-forward season. Sent in KAGAKI gift-ready packaging.
