A braided cord bracelet in a soft prism gradient — colour transitioning across the cord without saturation. KAGAKI reads the rainbow softly: as a marker of transition, breadth, and a small daily reminder of change.

Design Concept

Prism – 虹 began as a small study of refraction — a single round-braided cord, run through with the entire visible spectrum, broken at intervals by a thin gold-tone metallic thread that catches the light. The kanji 虹 means rainbow — the sky's brief promise after rain. The piece is designed as a small everyday joyfulness, kept at the wrist.

虹。

Material & Craft

Handmade with round-braided cotton cord (single-layer twist) carrying a full rainbow palette — blue, teal, pink, green, cream, red, orange, magenta — woven into diagonal gradient bands. A thin gold-tone metallic thread runs through the wrap section near the closure. Sliding adjustable closure with cord-knot finishings. Each cord is hand-braided; the diagonal angle of the bands and the spacing of the gold thread carry small natural variation between pieces.

Energy & Intention

A rainbow is not a continuous thing. It is white light, broken — the full spectrum already present, only made visible when something refracts it apart. Prism – 虹 carries that idea structurally: the full spectrum running through a single round-braided cord, woven so the colors slide into one another along the diagonal of the braid. The piece is designed as a daily reminder that the brightness was already in the wearer; it just needed a small object on the wrist to refract it into view.

Who It's For

For the wearer who has been quietly muted for a season — a long grief, a long burnout, a long stretch of careful black clothing — and who is ready to put a little color back into a wrist they had been keeping bare. The cord carries the entire spectrum so the wearer does not have to choose which color they are ready for. The bracelet does that work in their stead.

Gift Idea

A gift for the moment when someone is ready to wear color again — the first spring after a hard winter, the year someone finishes treatment, the season a long mourning quietly lifts. Often given to mark the literal day the wearer felt warmth return. Wrapped with care in KAGAKI gift packaging.

Care Note

Real cotton cord and metallic thread are sensitive to water, perfume, lotions, and prolonged sunlight. Remove before bathing, swimming, or sleeping. Adjust the slide gently. Store flat away from light to keep the rainbow saturation. See KAGAKI jewelry care for full guidance.
