Coil – 巻 is a double-wrap rainbow-fleck black braid with a single hand-carved wood bead.
Design Concept
Coil – 巻 began with the kind of quiet bracelet a wearer returns to without thinking. A black braid flecked with rainbow thread, wrapped twice around the wrist, carrying one hand-carved wood bead — a small Buddhist carving tradition riding a modern wrap. The piece is designed to live on the wrist daily — small enough to disappear under a sleeve, present enough to be felt when the hand finds it. The kanji 巻 means to wind, to coil — a small visual anchor for what the bracelet is about.

Material & Craft
Double-wrap braided cord (black with rainbow flecks), one carved wood bead in the Buddhist carving tradition, gold-tone clasp. The carving is done by hand; grain and depth vary piece to piece. Each piece is finished by hand in small batches. Small braid-tension or knot-position variation is intentional and part of the made-by-hand register — not a defect. The sliding-knot closure is hand-tied to allow the wrist to find its own size, and the cord is meant to soften gradually with daily wear.
Energy & Intention
A wrap bracelet works like a habit — it goes around twice, and the second turn is the one you notice. The carved bead sits where the eye lands. KAGAKI treats this register interpretively, not as a religious or medical claim — a small daily reminder rather than a promise. The bracelet is a quiet companion to a practice the wearer already has, or to one they are quietly building.
Who It's For
For someone who wants a small wrist marker rather than a statement piece — a meditator, a writer, a traveller, a friend marking a transition, a partner wearing a quiet promise. The piece is intentionally subtle: it works under cuffs and sleeves, layers with other small pieces, and softens with daily wear. The wearer who prefers a quiet object over a loud one — that is the wrist this piece is built for.
Gift Idea
A good first piece for someone drawn to wood rather than stone — warm, light on the wrist, easy to wear with everything. The gift carries more meaning when paired with a few words of your own about why this piece was chosen — a sentence or two about the moment, the intention, or the wish the bracelet is meant to mark. KAGAKI packaging is kept simple so the piece can be the focus.
Care Note
Hand-braided cord softens with daily wear — that softening is part of the piece, not damage. Avoid prolonged water, perfume, lotions, and harsh sunlight. Remove before bathing, swimming, or sleeping. The sliding-knot closure adjusts to most adult wrists; pull gently to size and the knot will hold without re-tying.
